Chemoprevention is defined as use of non-toxic chemical substances
or their mixtures to inhibit, retard or delay the overall process
of multi-stage carcinogenesis. A wide array of compounds, of
both synthetic and natural origin, have been reported to exert
antimutagenic and anticarcinogenic effects in numerous animal
and cell culture systems. However, in order to be applied to
human population, elucidation of their underlying mechanisms
as well as the precise assessment of safety is pivotal.
In this context, the 9th International Conference on Mechanisms
of Antimutagensis and Anticarcinogenesis (ICMAA-2007) will provide
an excellent forum to exchange ideas, stimulate collaboration
and launch a State-of-the-Art research program in studying how
distinct sets of agents exert their chemopreventive effects
at the cellular and molecular levels.
On behalf of the organizing committee and international advisory
board members, we would like to welcome you to ICMAA-2007 that
will be held in conjunction with the annual meeting of the Korean
Society of Cancer Prevention. The scientific program will include
plenary/special lectures, invited/contributed oral presentations,
and poster presentations. Besides enjoying the scientific sessions,
participants will have ample opportunities to explore the natural
beauty of Jeju Island.
We look forward to your active participation
in ICMAA-2007. |
